Do you wish to build your self confidence and self esteem? One of the most rapid roads to achieving that goal is to start getting in contact with your feelings.

That statement may a little odd, but there are many people who really have to create confidence in their own emotions as a prelude to having better feelings about themselves. I am in no way recommending lashing out physically at others, but short of that, what is wrong about acknowledging your actual emotions in every situation, the distressed and unhappy ones as well as the happy and cheerful ones?

It's a sad fact that the majority of people in this modern world have had drilled into their heads that they should squelch their feelings, and even to label some feelings as bad. Some men and women have absorbed this idea so well that they no longer even know what they are feeling from moment to moment. Coming to terms with your feelings means acknowledging them all. From this moment forward, grant yourself permission to experience every emotion that rises up within. Don't smother it!

When you find yourself viewing a sad or depressing TV program, let yourself cry. If you see some happening that strikes you as very humorous, let yourself have a good deep laugh, even if you are out in public and others look at you curiously. Yell about the inconsiderate person who just swerved in front of you on the freeway, and keep yelling until the angry feeling or just naturally dies away.

Experiencing your emotions, without condeming them, will free your true self simply as a result of squarely facing what is happening for you at any given moment. And freeing that real self that you have kept hidden even from yourself all these years is virtually guaranteed to increase your self confidence.

Throughout my childhood and teenage years I was a person who had a real lack of self-belief. I have to say that in reality I did not like myself. I was quite envious of what my friends and family had. Their lives just seemed so easy where as mine was a constant battle. What I needed was to some how gain confidence.

I had a stutter you see which did make life unbearable at times. At the age of 22 I did manage to eradicate the stutter and it sure was worth the wait. I had however already spent the previous eighteen years struggling to cope with a stuttering or what is also known as stammering problem that virtually destroyed my entire confidence.

What I did learn and what was eventually a catalyst to enabling me to eradicate the speech impediment was that I needed to start appreciating what I had in life. I had to stop feeling sorry for myself and I needed to work hard at improving the areas of my life that I was not happy with – such as my speech.

I also needed to become a more care-free person – less stress etc. My whole approach to life had to change; I was now going to start to think in a positive manner.

These were some massive changes that I was attempting to make to the way that I lived my life and I will not try and tell you that it was easy. In the end however the hard work and determination did pay off; I am now able to talk fluently with a new found confidence.

How To Increase Self-Confidence

The Way In Which I Obtained Personal Happiness

I am now in a happy place, I have pride in where I am at in comparison to where I have been and I now live a contented life. Why? Well because I have managed to turn my life around. I am no longer such a needy, self-destructive character with a lack of self-esteem. I now live life with a smile on my face and am very much looking forward to the future. With the contents of this article I will be describing my journey to happiness and hope that it will prove to be an inspiration to other people out there.

Besides my nervous way of speaking (I had a speech impediment commonly referred to as stuttering), the following areas of confidence coaching were of interest to me:

I had, for whatever reason, a lack of belief at the workplace

I had a negative belief that I would fail in whichever task I attempted to do

I wanted to become far more assertive

I would often get dragged down by negative comments

I was paranoid (at least a subtle feeling) that people don't like me

For some bizarre reason I would often feel
very sorry for myself

I wanted to be able to speak with authority and presence

I wanted to see fear and anxiety as a challenge and not as a prison cell

I wanted to learn to be self-assured and to be able to feel comfortable in any place, anytime

I wanted to be able to talk to anyone, at anytime and feel completely in control and natural

As you can see I wanted quite a lot! By reading literature about how to gain confidence, how to increase self-confidence and about how to become a success helped me, in some degree, with all of the above. I realised that I needed to be a lot more care-free, I needed to stop worrying about what other people thought of me and I needed to appreciate what I had in life. Only by doing this will I ever have any chance of becoming a success.

I am now a lot more confident and proficient in my business life which is in the website promotion sector. It is a good place to be - happy at work and happy at home.

Lets talk about the wealth and health and prosperity : Make no mistake about it - it is our subconscious minds that is the thing that is in charge of our lives and as we learn to really get to grips with our subconscious minds we can readily invoke the law of attraction into our lives; this will bring about all of the things that we want in our lives based upon the various areas of life normally divided as physical, spiritual, financial, health, relationships. Many people get confused when referring to the law of attraction and the use of the subconscious mind especially when they are looking to make things happen in their lives. So what can one do when they want to improve their lives in order to start to move ahead ?

Make no mistake about it - when we consider goal setting forms : understanding how to use the subsonscious mind is something that can really change your life. The reason is that the things that we do as a habit force is actually based on what we do with our subconscious minds. We will see the results in our life in areas of self confidence as well as other ways. So what can we do ? we should begin with goal setting and specifically map out the things that we want to come about in our lives. When we do this then we will literally being to reprogram our inner minds and then we will being to do those things as a matter of habit that will take us closer to our goals.

Of course we will need to develop a certain amount of self confidence and self determination as, along with the programming of our minds, we really will need to be acting and walking as well as talking the way that we need to in order to become the type of person that we need to in order to achieve our dreams. Note that it is vitally important to make sure that we change into the person that we need to be before, we obtain the actual results in our lives.

Self esteem, a some definitions. But actually, there is a single thought that concludes the definitions. The thoughtis about how an individual sees himself. Someone’s self esteem is influenced by many factors which are related to the success and powerlessness in his/her life. It is as well as the regard that one has for himself depending on those success and powerlessness. The regard for someone’s self (or we called it self regard) can be determined by belief and emotions. Later on, it can influence someone’s character

There are two different types of needs with regard to self esteem. Those needs need respect. The first is respect from other people, while the second is respect for himself (or we called it self respect). Those respects are said to motivate one’s esteem and influence the way of an individual sees himself.

Definition Number 1

People defined self esteem as a situation of an individual’s behavior based on his successes and powerlessnesss. But, this definition is no longer appropriate, as it implies that self esteem is temporary and fully depended on the recent situation of a person. In detail, someone has self worth when he is successful. But that self worth will be gone by the time he fails.

Definition Number 2

The next definition of self esteem is self worth which is solid and built through the years. It implies that someone’s self esteem is based on their competency to face any challenges and difficulties in life. It indicates that self esteem is inherent in one person and cannot be taken away easily by mere failures. The person views himself as someone with worth because of his accumulated success and even by his failures.

Measuring Self Esteem

To find out someone’s degree or level of self esteem, we have definitive procedures. Recently, there are two tests used for assessing a person’s self worth and self regard. The tests are in the written form, namely Rosenberg and Coopersmith Self Esteem Tests. Someone’s self worth will be analyzed through the questions in both tests. The numbers of questions in both tests are different. There are around ten questions in Rosenberg test and above fifty questions in Coopersmith test.

For some people, self esteem tests will make them suffering, chiefly people with high and low self esteem. Low self esteem in someone can direct him to the low confidence and insecurity. In the other hand, high self esteem can lead people to the situation of having too much self confidence. To change the situation of their self esteem is not an easy job, chiefly if someone is used to it. It is completely different from the common belief in society. They are sure that the situation of self esteem can be easily changed.

You and no one else are often responsible for most of your procrastination problems which you are facing today. As much as it hurts, still, it is important for you to realize that, if you want to be in a good position in stopping procrastination dead in its track.

Others may show you the ways on how to cure procrastination problems, however it still depends greatly on you to put what you learn into actions.

To know but not to do is not to know.

Quite contrary to popular beliefs, everyone is a procrastinator in nature. Even very successful people are facing the same procrastination problems which you and I are facing right now. However, what makes them different is that they have learned to value long term successes over short term comfort.

In addition, they know in their heart and mind the things the truly value. Like us, successful people are also in the constant war against procrastination.

As we all know, the simple act of delaying a task unnecessary results in the procrastination problems which we are facing right now. And not to forget, if we were to continue indulging in it and not be more vigilant in stopping procrastination, we will always be caught in the vicious cycle of frustration, stress and defeat.

Therefore, working on the root of your procrastination problems is one sure way to take back control of your life and improve your self esteem and self confidence at the same time.

Here are some simple tips which you can use in your daily life:

Pen down all your life-time goals on paper. A list of such should be kept handy for your reference as it can provide you with the necessary motivation and focus, especially at times when you are down and dejected. Personally, I have used this list to a great extent and I cannot recommend it enough.

Learn to establish the CORRECT priorities. When everything becomes important, nothing is important. Focus more on issues that are important, not those which are urgent. In life, there are just too many such unimportant fires which demand our attention. Thus, recognizing them is a skill you will need to cultivate and practice.

“Just Do It!” There is something called sufficient planning while there is no such thing as a perfect plan. Stop waiting for all the circumstances, people and/or time to be right before you jump in to do what is needed. The only way to know if your plan is perfect is to carry it out. Leave hesitation to tomorrow. Decide NOW!

Let the past pass. Winners win because they learn from the past and live in the present. Don’t blame the path, change the path. Don’t blame the situation, change the situation.

Do what you can, offer you very best and let go. Move on with confidence to the next tasks on hand. Admit that no matter how well you do; there will be always the existence of some minor flaws. You are not perfect, no one can be.

You certainly cannot eliminate all your procrastination problems overnight, but you can always change your direction. So, are you prepared to change your direction yet?
